New Orleans Comedy Theater

Set just after New Orleans’ founding in 1718, the play follows Bienville as he attempts to build the city of his dreams armed only with a few soldiers and workers whose previous residences were the prisons of Paris. To make matters worse, the city’s engineer is on the verge of a nervous breakdown trying to figure out how to build a city in a swamp, and local Indians are threatening war because Bienville’s men will not stop chasing after their squaws. And, as if that’s not enough, Spain has called in the notorious Avocado Dominguez to build its own gateway to the Americas, and the race is on.

Show dates are May 2, 3, 9, 16, 17, 23, 24 (SOLD OUT) and 30, (SOLD OUT) with Friday performances beginning at 8:30 p.m. and Saturday performances at 9:00 p.m. Purchase tickets here.
